Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit with Mardi Himal Trek – 39 Days Himalayan Adventure
Trip Overview
Thorong High Camp to Muktinath via Thorong La PassThe Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit with Mardi Himal Trek is one of the longest and most complete trekking adventures in Nepal, combining remote Himalayan landscapes, high mountain passes, traditional villages, sacred sites, and some of the most famous viewpoints in the country. This 39-day journey takes trekkers through diverse landscapes, starting from the beautiful Budhi Gandaki Valley and continuing towards the high alpine valleys of Manang before crossing challenging mountain passes and reaching iconic destinations.
This Manaslu Circuit and Annapurna Circuit Trek begins with the remote trails of the Manaslu region, where trekkers experience peaceful villages, ancient monasteries, and spectacular views of peaks including Manaslu. After crossing the dramatic Larkya La Pass, the route connects with the Annapurna Circuit and continues towards Manang, Tilicho Lake, and Thorong La Pass at 5,416m, one of the highest trekking passes in Nepal.
The journey becomes even more special with the addition of Tilicho Lake Trek, where trekkers explore the turquoise glacial lake located at around 4,919m surrounded by massive Himalayan peaks. The trail then descends through Muktinath, Ghorepani, and Poon Hill before entering the Annapurna Base Camp route, where the mountains feel closer than ever.
After reaching Annapurna Base Camp, the adventure continues towards the peaceful Mardi Himal trail. The final section offers stunning ridge walks, forest trails, and close-up views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the surrounding Himalayan range.
This package is designed for experienced trekkers who want to experience multiple legendary trekking routes in a single journey. Because of the long duration, high-altitude sections, and challenging passes, this trek requires good physical fitness, proper preparation, and a strong trekking mindset.
Trek Difficulty of Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit with Mardi Himal Trek
The Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit with Mardi Himal Trek is a challenging Himalayan journey that combines some of Nepal’s most beautiful and demanding trekking routes. This long-duration adventure requires good physical fitness, strong endurance, and proper preparation because the trail includes high-altitude passes, steep climbs, long walking days, and changing landscapes from green forests to alpine mountain regions.
The main difficulty of the Manaslu Circuit and Annapurna Circuit Trek comes from the altitude gain and remote mountain trails. Trekkers need to cross Larkya La Pass (5,106m) and Thorong La Pass (5,416m), which are the most demanding sections of the journey. These high passes require early morning walks, careful pacing, and the ability to handle cold temperatures and lower oxygen levels at higher elevations.
The addition of Mardi Himal Trek with Annapurna Base Camp and Tilicho Lake makes this package even more adventurous. The route includes continuous trekking days, steep uphill sections, and rugged mountain paths. The Mardi Himal section is shorter compared to Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit, but the climb towards High Camp and Mardi Himal Base Camp offers a challenging ridge walk with amazing Himalayan views.
Although the Manaslu and Annapurna Circuit with Mardi Himal Trek is considered a challenging trek, it is possible for trekkers who have good stamina and a positive attitude. Previous trekking experience is beneficial, but physically prepared travelers can complete this journey with proper training, gradual walking, and a well-planned itinerary.
The itinerary includes acclimatization days at Samagaon and Manang, which help trekkers adjust to higher altitudes. Maintaining a slow pace, staying hydrated, eating balanced meals, and following the guidance of experienced trekking staff are important for completing this incredible Himalayan adventure safely.
