Trip Overview

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of the most beautiful and adventurous trekking journeys in Nepal. This incredible Himalayan trek takes you around Mount Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world at 8,163 meters (26,781 feet). This Manaslu Circuit Trek is known for its untouched natural beauty, rich mountain culture, dramatic landscapes, and exciting high-altitude adventure. Unlike the crowded Everest and Annapurna trekking routes, the Manaslu region remains peaceful and less commercialized, offering a more authentic Himalayan experience.

The trek passes through the protected Manaslu Conservation Area, a biodiversity-rich region home to rare wildlife including Himalayan tahr, blue sheep, and even elusive snow leopards. Throughout the journey, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of majestic Himalayan giants such as Himalchuli, Ngadi Chuli, Ganesh Himal, and, of course, the magnificent Mount Manaslu itself.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Route

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola. Once you reach Machha Khola, you will start the trek following the trail alongside the Budhi Gandaki River. You will pass through remote villages, dense forests, waterfalls, suspension bridges, and beautiful mountain valleys. As you move higher into the region, the scenery changes from green hills and terraced farmland to alpine meadows, glaciers, and snow-covered peaks.

One of the most special things about the Manaslu region is its cultural diversity. In the lower areas, villages are mainly home to Gurung and Magar communities. Higher up, near the Tibetan border, the culture becomes strongly influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Ancient monasteries, prayer flags, mani walls, chortens, and prayer wheels give the trail a traditional Himalayan atmosphere that feels untouched by modern tourism.

You will walk through beautiful villages like Jagat, Deng, Namrung, Lho, Samagaon, and Samdo. These villages have stone houses, friendly local people, and amazing mountain views. Here, you will have the chance to enjoy the local culture and a peaceful Himalayan lifestyle. One of the best stops on the trek is Samagaon. Samagaon is a peaceful village surrounded by glaciers and mountains. You will stay here for an extra day to adjust to the high altitude. During this time, you can visit nearby places such as Manaslu Base Camp, Birendra Lake, and Pungyen Gompa.

You will also cross Larkya La Pass at 5,160 meters, which offers wide mountain views of Himlung Himal, Kang Guru, Annapurna II, Cheo Himal, and nearby glaciers. Then you will head back through the Bimthang and Dharapani. Once you reach Dharapani, the trek ends, and you will drive to Kathmandu.

If you are looking for a true Himalayan adventure away from crowded trekking routes, the Manaslu Circuit Trek is a great choice. The region offers peaceful trails, beautiful mountain scenery, and an unforgettable trekking experience in the heart of the Himalayas.

They truly make Nepal feel like a second home, and trekking with them means you won't need to worry about a single detail from start to finish. Why I Chose Silvermoon Adventure and Tours I learned about the team through Deepak. Once he knew my flight details and preferred trek, he immediately customized a detailed itinerary for me. While I consulted other travel agencies in Nepal, Deepak and the Silvermoon team provided the most thorough plan and transparent information, giving me complete confidence to book with them. The Trekking Experience My guide, Basanta, took exceptional care of me throughout the entire journey. Along the trail, he constantly checked in on how I was feeling, offered breaks, and even offered to carry my backpack to ensure I was comfortable. Every time we arrived at a tea house, he made sure I had food and drinks ready—even reminding me to order meals when I was too exhausted to think about it. On the day we reached Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), I developed a mild headache. Basanta immediately arranged garlic soup to help relieve the altitude sickness and provided medicine to soothe the pain. His attentive care made all the difference in completing the trek safely. Beyond his attentiveness, Basanta is an expert guide who always navigated the easiest paths at trail junctions. Even after we returned to Pokhara for dinner, he ensured I got back to my hotel safely. Deepak also checked in via message every single day during the trek to ensure everything was running smoothly. After the Trek The team's hospitality didn't end on the trail. Back in Kathmandu, the founder, Bishal, gave me a warm welcome, helped me retrieve my luggage from the hotel, showed me around the city, and personally arranged my airport drop-off. Thank you to Basanta, Bishal, and Deepak for an unforgettable experience. I will definitely return to Nepal and trek with Silvermoon Adventure and Tours again. Highly recommended!

Excellent guide and wonderful experience My husband and I had the most amazing experience trekking in the Himalayas to Poonhill with Bishal. We were very well looked after and felt extremely safe with him at all times. He made us laugh when the hike got a little trickier and always made sure we had hot drinks and food as soon as we got to the huts. We would highly recommend him as a wonderful and trustworthy guide and will definitely contact him again when we have plans to come back!
