Trip Overview

The Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake Trek is one of the most beautiful and rewarding trekking experiences in Nepal. It combines the famous Everest Base Camp trail with the peaceful Gokyo Valley, the stunning Gokyo Lakes, and the exciting Cho La Pass crossing. This trek is perfect for people who want more than the classic Everest Base Camp route and wish to experience both adventure and the quieter side of the Himalayas. Along the way, you will enjoy magnificent views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and many other Himalayan giants.

The trek actually starts in Lukla so that you will take a scenic flight from Kathmandu. From Lukla, the trail passes through Sherpa villages, green forests, and suspension bridges with colorful prayer flags. You’ll walk beside the Dudh Koshi River and slowly head toward Namche Bazaar, the main town of the Everest region. Here, you can rest, adjust to the altitude, and enjoy amazing views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan mountains.

From Namche, the route leaves the busier Everest trail and heads into the quieter Gokyo Valley. Passing through small mountain villages, glacial streams, and rugged alpine landscapes, you slowly gain altitude toward the stunning Gokyo Lakes, whose turquoise waters sit beneath towering snowy peaks and vast glaciers.

A sunrise hike to Gokyo Ri offers one of the best panoramic views in the Himalayas, with Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu rising above the valley below. The adventure continues across the challenging Cho La Pass, where rocky trails, snow, and icy sections add a true sense of high-altitude adventure.

After crossing the pass, the trail rejoins the classic Everest Base Camp route near Lobuche. You will walk beside the Khumbu Glacier, and continue toward Gorakshep and finally reach Everest Base Camp. You will witness the moment surrounded by glaciers, icefalls, and some of the world’s highest mountains.

The next morning, you will do an early hike to Kala Patthar. When you reach there, your eyes will be rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise view over Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan range. This Kala Patthar is the last destination of this 16-day trek to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lake. From here, you will start descending through the Khumbu region and reach Lukla. From Lukla, you will take a flight back to Kathmandu, leaving the stunning, unforgettable journey through the Himalayas behind.

Unforgettable Trekking Experience & Warmest Hospitality with Silvermoon Adventure Silvermoon Adventure and Tours provides comprehensive, reliable, and top-tier service, treating every guest with genuine warmth and care. They truly make Nepal feel like a second home, and trekking with them means you won't need to worry about a single detail from start to finish. Why I Chose Silvermoon Adventure and Tours I learned about the team through Deepak. Once he knew my flight details and preferred trek, he immediately customized a detailed itinerary for me. While I consulted other travel agencies in Nepal, Deepak and the Silvermoon team provided the most thorough plan and transparent information, giving me complete confidence to book with them. The Trekking Experience My guide, Basanta, took exceptional care of me throughout the entire journey. Along the trail, he constantly checked in on how I was feeling, offered breaks, and even offered to carry my backpack to ensure I was comfortable. Every time we arrived at a tea house, he made sure I had food and drinks ready—even reminding me to order meals when I was too exhausted to think about it. On the day we reached Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), I developed a mild headache. Basanta immediately arranged garlic soup to help relieve the altitude sickness and provided medicine to soothe the pain. His attentive care made all the difference in completing the trek safely. Beyond his attentiveness, Basanta is an expert guide who always navigated the easiest paths at trail junctions. Even after we returned to Pokhara for dinner, he ensured I got back to my hotel safely. Deepak also checked in via message every single day during the trek to ensure everything was running smoothly. After the Trek The team's hospitality didn't end on the trail. Back in Kathmandu, the founder, Bishal, gave me a warm welcome, helped me retrieve my luggage from the hotel, showed me around the city, and personally arranged my airport drop-off. Thank you to Basanta, Bishal, and Deepak for an unforgettable experience. I will definitely return to Nepal and trek with Silvermoon Adventure and Tours again. Highly recommended!

Excellent guide and wonderful experience My husband and I had the most amazing experience trekking in the Himalayas to Poonhill with Bishal. We were very well looked after and felt extremely safe with him at all times. He made us laugh when the hike got a little trickier and always made sure we had hot drinks and food as soon as we got to the huts. We would highly recommend him as a wonderful and trustworthy guide and will definitely contact him again when we have plans to come back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable solo trek! As a solo traveler, I couldn't have asked for a better experience on the 5-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Silver Moon Adventure. From day one, I felt completely safe, welcomed, and well taken care of. My guide was incredible—friendly, professional, and full of knowledge about the mountains, local villages, and trail. The itinerary was perfectly paced, taking us through beautiful forests and culture-rich Gurung villages before that breathtaking sunrise at Base Camp. Meals, tea houses, and logistics were handled seamlessly every step of the way, making the entire journey completely stress-free. If you’re planning to trek in Nepal—especially solo—I can't recommend Silver Moon Adventure enough. Thank you for such a memorable adventure, I’d trek with you again in a heartbeat! 🏔️✨

It was good experience sightseeing at Kathmandu My trip with Silver Moon Adventure was truly unforgettable. Exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu was an amazing experience, with each place showcasing Nepal's rich history, culture, and architectural beauty. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting the monasteries in Pharping. The peaceful atmosphere and meditation experience were deeply spiritual and left me feeling calm and inspired. It was a unique opportunity that I will always remember.
