Additional information

A Journey Through Different Sides of Nepal

This 10-day Nepal tour gives you a chance to experience several very different parts of the country in one journey. You’ll begin with the history and culture of Kathmandu, enjoy Himalayan scenery and lakeside relaxation in Pokhara, experience the forests and wildlife of Chitwan, and finish with the peaceful spiritual atmosphere of Lumbini.

One of the best things about this itinerary is the changing landscape. You’ll travel from busy city streets and ancient temples to green hills, rivers, forests, subtropical plains, and Buddhist heritage sites.

Because each destination has its own character, the journey feels varied without long trekking days or strenuous physical activity.

Transportation and Road Journeys

Most of the journey is completed by tourist bus or road transportation. This lets you see more of Nepal’s countryside along the way, rather than simply flying between destinations.

The road from Kathmandu to Pokhara passes through green hills, terraced farmland, rivers, villages, and small towns. The journeys between Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini, and Kathmandu also give you a closer look at everyday life outside Nepal’s major cities.

Road travel in Nepal can sometimes take longer than expected. Traffic, road construction, weather, local events, and road conditions can all affect travel times, so it is better to enjoy the journey rather than focus too much on the exact arrival time.

Kathmandu Sightseeing

Kathmandu is the cultural starting point of the journey. The sightseeing program introduces you to some of the valley’s most important Hindu and Buddhist heritage sites.

You’ll visit places such as Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Take your time at these locations because they are not simply tourist attractions—they are living religious and cultural spaces.

Dress respectfully when visiting temples and religious sites. Some areas may restrict photography or entry, so always follow local instructions and your guide’s advice.

Exploring Pokhara at a Relaxed Pace

Pokhara offers a completely different atmosphere from Kathmandu. With Phewa Lake, green hills, mountain views, and a relaxed Lakeside area, it is a good place to slow down during the journey.

Sightseeing includes Sarangkot, Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, the International Mountain Museum, and the World Peace Pagoda. If the weather is clear, Sarangkot can provide beautiful views of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre.

You’ll also have some free time to enjoy Pokhara independently. A walk around Lakeside, a quiet café beside the lake, or simply relaxing at your hotel can be a nice way to enjoy the city between sightseeing activities.

Sarangkot and Mountain Views

Sarangkot is a highlight for travelers who want to see the Himalayas without a trek. The viewpoint sits above Pokhara and offers wide views across the surrounding hills and mountain ranges.

Mountain visibility depends heavily on weather conditions. Early mornings often provide better opportunities for clear views, but clouds or haze can sometimes hide the mountains.

If photography is important to you, keep your camera or phone ready and allow yourself enough time to enjoy the view rather than rushing through the stop.

Chitwan and Jungle Experiences

The atmosphere changes completely when you arrive in Chitwan. Instead of mountain landscapes, you’ll find forests, grasslands, rivers, wetlands, and a warmer subtropical environment.

The jungle safari gives you an opportunity to explore Chitwan National Park and look for wildlife, including one-horned rhinoceros, deer, wild boar, monkeys, crocodiles and different bird species.

Wildlife is unpredictable, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. The experience is about exploring the natural environment and observing animals responsibly rather than expecting to see a particular species.

Wildlife and Safari Etiquette

During jungle activities, always follow your safari guide’s instructions. Keep a safe distance from animals and avoid making unnecessary noise or attempting to attract wildlife for photographs.

Binoculars can help with birdwatching and observing animals from a distance. Neutral, comfortable clothing can also be helpful during nature activities.

Depending on your available time and the program, additional experiences such as canoeing, nature walks, birdwatching and village visits may also be possible.

Experiencing Tharu Culture

Chitwan is also a place to learn about the local Tharu community and its traditional way of life. A village visit or cultural performance can add a different dimension to your jungle experience.

Take the opportunity to learn about local traditions, architecture, food, music and daily life. When visiting local communities, be respectful and always ask before taking close-up photographs of people.

The cultural experience is best enjoyed as an opportunity to interact respectfully rather than simply observing from a distance.

Exploring Lumbini

Lumbini provides a peaceful change of pace after the excitement of Chitwan. Known as the birthplace of Lord Buddha, it is an important destination for Buddhist pilgrims and travelers interested in history, spirituality and culture.

The Maya Devi Temple, Sacred Garden, Ashoka Pillar and surrounding monastic zone are among the major places to explore.

Give yourself enough time to walk slowly through the area. Lumbini is better experienced at a relaxed pace, allowing you to appreciate its quiet surroundings and different Buddhist traditions.

Visiting the Monasteries of Lumbini

One of the interesting aspects of Lumbini is the collection of monasteries and temples representing different Buddhist traditions and countries.

The architecture and design vary from one monastery to another, making this area interesting even for travelers who are not visiting primarily for religious reasons.

Remember that these are active religious spaces. Maintain a respectful attitude, dress appropriately, and follow any instructions provided by the monasteries.

Food and Drinking Water

Breakfast is included throughout the planned itinerary, while other meals depend on the services mentioned in your package.

You’ll find a wide variety of food in Kathmandu and Pokhara, including Nepali, Indian, Asian and international options. Chitwan and Lumbini also offer a range of local and tourist-friendly restaurants.

For drinking water, bottled or properly treated water is recommended. Carrying a reusable bottle is a practical choice, especially during sightseeing and road journeys.

Weather and Clothing

Because this journey covers different parts of Nepal, temperatures can vary considerably between destinations.

Kathmandu and Pokhara can be pleasantly cool depending on the season, while Chitwan and Lumbini are generally warmer. Morning visits to Sarangkot can feel noticeably cooler than the rest of the day.

Pack lightweight clothing along with a warm layer, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and a light rain jacket. Layering is useful because temperatures can change throughout the day.

Best Time for the Tour

This tour can be enjoyed throughout the year, but spring and autumn are generally comfortable periods for sightseeing and mountain views.

Spring offers pleasant temperatures and good conditions for exploring the cities, while autumn usually provides clear skies and beautiful Himalayan visibility.

The monsoon months can bring rainfall, particularly during road journeys, while winter mornings and evenings can be cooler. Chitwan and Lumbini can still be enjoyable during these periods, although conditions may vary.

Photography and Personal Devices

There are plenty of opportunities for photography throughout the journey, from ancient temples and traditional architecture to Himalayan landscapes, wildlife and Buddhist monasteries.

Carry spare batteries or a power bank, especially when spending long days sightseeing or traveling between destinations.

When photographing people, religious ceremonies, monks, local communities or wildlife, be respectful and ask for permission where appropriate.

Money and Personal Expenses

Major tourist areas such as Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan have ATMs and money exchange facilities, but it is still useful to carry some Nepalese rupees for smaller purchases.

You may need cash for snacks, drinks, souvenirs, cafés, optional activities, personal expenses and tips.

Keep some smaller notes available for easier payments during road stops and visits to local shops.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is recommended even though this is a relatively easy tour. Your policy should ideally cover medical treatment, trip interruptions, baggage problems and other unexpected travel situations.

While the itinerary does not involve high-altitude trekking, travel plans can still be affected by illness, weather, road delays or other unforeseen circumstances.

Check your policy carefully before travelling so you understand what is covered.

Guide and Local Support

A local guide can make a significant difference during sightseeing. Instead of simply visiting a monument and taking photographs, you can learn about the history, traditions and stories behind the places you visit.

Your guide can also help with local customs, timing, transportation and practical questions throughout the journey.

For a smoother experience, feel free to ask questions and let your guide know if you need extra time at a particular location.

Respecting Local Culture

Nepal is a culturally diverse country with strong Hindu and Buddhist traditions. You’ll encounter temples, monasteries, shrines, prayer flags, religious ceremonies and sacred spaces throughout the journey.

Dress modestly when visiting religious sites, remove your shoes where required, avoid touching religious objects unnecessarily, and follow local instructions.

A little cultural awareness goes a long way and helps make your experience more meaningful.

Responsible Travel

Try to leave each destination as you found it. Avoid littering, reduce unnecessary plastic use, and carry reusable items where possible.

During wildlife activities, never feed animals or attempt to get closer to them for photographs. Supporting local businesses, guides, restaurants and handicraft sellers is also a good way to contribute to the communities you visit.

Responsible travel helps protect Nepal’s natural and cultural heritage for future visitors.

Flexible Itinerary

Although the tour follows a planned 10-day itinerary, some details may need to change depending on road conditions, traffic, weather, local events, attraction opening hours, or other unexpected circumstances.

The order of sightseeing may occasionally be adjusted to make the journey more comfortable and practical.

If changes are necessary, the main goal will be to maintain the quality of your experience while keeping the journey safe and enjoyable.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

This is a sightseeing and cultural tour rather than a trekking trip, so you do not need advanced physical fitness. However, you should be comfortable with walking around heritage sites, viewpoints, museums, temples and other attractions.

Some places involve stairs, uneven paths or extended periods of walking, so comfortable shoes are highly recommended.

The long road journeys can also be tiring, particularly the return drive from Lumbini to Kathmandu. Take the journey at a relaxed pace, stay hydrated, and use the planned stops to stretch and rest.

Most importantly, leave some room for spontaneity. A quiet village, a beautiful mountain view, a local conversation, or an unexpected roadside stop can become one of the most memorable parts of your Nepal journey.

This tour brings together culture, mountains, wildlife, spirituality and everyday Nepalese life in one carefully planned journey. From the ancient heritage of Kathmandu to the peaceful lakes of Pokhara, the jungles of Chitwan and the sacred landscape of Lumbini, it offers a comfortable way to discover the many different sides of Nepal in just 10 days.

Unforgettable Trekking Experience & Warmest Hospitality with Silvermoon Adventure Silvermoon Adventure and Tours provides comprehensive, reliable, and top-tier service, treating every guest with genuine warmth and care. They truly make Nepal feel like a second home, and trekking with them means you won't need to worry about a single detail from start to finish. Why I Chose Silvermoon Adventure and Tours I learned about the team through Deepak. Once he knew my flight details and preferred trek, he immediately customized a detailed itinerary for me. While I consulted other travel agencies in Nepal, Deepak and the Silvermoon team provided the most thorough plan and transparent information, giving me complete confidence to book with them. The Trekking Experience My guide, Basanta, took exceptional care of me throughout the entire journey. Along the trail, he constantly checked in on how I was feeling, offered breaks, and even offered to carry my backpack to ensure I was comfortable. Every time we arrived at a tea house, he made sure I had food and drinks ready—even reminding me to order meals when I was too exhausted to think about it. On the day we reached Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), I developed a mild headache. Basanta immediately arranged garlic soup to help relieve the altitude sickness and provided medicine to soothe the pain. His attentive care made all the difference in completing the trek safely. Beyond his attentiveness, Basanta is an expert guide who always navigated the easiest paths at trail junctions. Even after we returned to Pokhara for dinner, he ensured I got back to my hotel safely. Deepak also checked in via message every single day during the trek to ensure everything was running smoothly. After the Trek The team's hospitality didn't end on the trail. Back in Kathmandu, the founder, Bishal, gave me a warm welcome, helped me retrieve my luggage from the hotel, showed me around the city, and personally arranged my airport drop-off. Thank you to Basanta, Bishal, and Deepak for an unforgettable experience. I will definitely return to Nepal and trek with Silvermoon Adventure and Tours again. Highly recommended!

From day one, I felt completely safe, welcomed, and well taken care of. My guide was incredible—friendly, professional, and full of knowledge about the mountains, local villages, and trail. The itinerary was perfectly paced, taking us through beautiful forests and culture-rich Gurung villages before that breathtaking sunrise at Base Camp. Meals, tea houses, and logistics were handled seamlessly every step of the way, making the entire journey completely stress-free. If you’re planning to trek in Nepal—especially solo—I can't recommend Silver Moon Adventure enough. Thank you for such a memorable adventure, I’d trek with you again in a heartbeat! 🏔️✨

It was good experience sightseeing at Kathmandu My trip with Silver Moon Adventure was truly unforgettable. Exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu was an amazing experience, with each place showcasing Nepal's rich history, culture, and architectural beauty. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting the monasteries in Pharping. The peaceful atmosphere and meditation experience were deeply spiritual and left me feeling calm and inspired. It was a unique opportunity that I will always remember. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Silver Moon Adventure for organizing such a wonderful journey and introducing me to these special places. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made the trip enjoyable from start to finish. I highly recommend Silver Moon Adventure to anyone looking for an authentic cultural and spiritual experience in Nepal. I will definitely return for another trip in the future! His friendly attitude and local knowledge made the experience even more memorable. The trek itself was stunning, with beautiful forests, peaceful trails, and breathtaking mountain views, especially from Mardi Himal View Point. Everything was well organized, including the accommodation, meals, and daily itinerary, allowing us to fully enjoy the adventure without any worries.
