Everest Base Camp Trek Heli to Heli with breathtaking Himalayan views and helicopter return
Everest Base Camp Trek Heli to Heli – 14 Days
Trip Overview
The Everest Base Camp Trek Heli to Heli is an incredible Himalayan adventure that combines the traditional Everest trekking experience with the comfort of helicopter transportation. This 14-day journey is designed for travelers who want to explore the legendary Everest region while saving time on the long transportation route. The adventure begins with a scenic helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where you can enjoy breathtaking aerial views of green hills, deep valleys, and the Himalayan mountain range before starting the trek toward Everest Base Camp.
After landing at Lukla, the trail follows the classic Everest Base Camp route through beautiful Sherpa villages, peaceful forests, suspension bridges, and ancient monasteries. During the trek, you will pass through famous destinations like Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorak Shep. Each village offers a unique experience of Sherpa culture, mountain lifestyle, and the natural beauty of the Khumbu region. The changing landscapes, from lush forests to rocky Himalayan terrain, make every day of this journey memorable.
The Everest Base Camp Trek Heli to Heli includes important acclimatization days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche because adjusting to high altitude is a key part of a safe trekking experience. At Namche Bazaar, you will hike to Hotel Everest View, one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region, where you can see stunning views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other Himalayan peaks. Similarly, the hike to Nangkartsang Peak from Dingboche provides excellent mountain scenery and helps prepare your body for the higher elevations ahead.
The major highlight of this journey is reaching Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters, located at the foot of the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest. After reaching Base Camp, you will continue to Kala Patthar (5,545m), the most famous viewpoint in the region, where you can enjoy unforgettable sunrise views over Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. This moment becomes the most rewarding part of the entire trekking experience.
Unlike the regular Everest Base Camp Trek, this package offers a helicopter return from Lukla to Kathmandu after completing the trekking section. This saves several days of walking and provides a comfortable ending to your Himalayan adventure. With experienced guides, proper acclimatization, scenic mountain trails, and helicopter convenience, Silver Moon Adventure and Tour organizes the Everest Base Camp Trek Heli to Heli for travelers seeking a well-managed and memorable journey to the base of Mount Everest.

Day 2
Helicopter Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek to Phakding
Today is the real beginning of your Everest Base Camp Trek Heli to Heli. After an early breakfast, you will head to the helicopter departure point in Kathmandu. Your scenic helicopter flight takes you directly from Kathmandu to Lukla, avoiding the usual drive to Manthali/Ramechhap. As the helicopter rises above the Kathmandu Valley, you can enjoy views of hills, valleys, and, weather permitting, the Himalayan range.
After landing at Lukla (2,840 m), you will meet your trekking guide and get ready for the first day of walking. The trail begins through the beautiful mountain surroundings of the Khumbu region and gradually leads toward Phakding. Although the walk is relatively short, it gives you time to enjoy the local villages, green landscapes, suspension bridges, and the peaceful atmosphere of the Everest trail.
You will reach Phakding (2,610 m) in the afternoon and check into a local teahouse. You can rest, enjoy a warm meal, and prepare for the longer walk to Namche Bazaar tomorrow.

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
After breakfast at Phakding, you will begin the trek toward Namche Bazaar, one of the most famous villages in the Everest region. Today is a longer walking day, but the trail is beautiful and full of Himalayan scenery. You will follow the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges and passing through small villages along the way.
As you continue, the landscape gradually changes from green forests to the rugged mountain environment of the Khumbu. You will walk through pine, fir, and rhododendron forests, while the sound of the river accompanies much of the journey. Along the trail, you will also pass through Monjo, where the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park is located.
After entering the national park, the trail continues toward Jorsale and then follows the river before reaching the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. From there, the route climbs steadily toward Namche Bazaar. The final uphill section can feel challenging because you are gaining altitude, so walking slowly and drinking enough water is important.
Finally, you will arrive at Namche Bazaar, a beautiful mountain town shaped like an amphitheater. Surrounded by hills and Himalayan peaks, Namche is an important resting and trading center for trekkers and local Sherpa communities. After checking into your teahouse, you can relax and prepare for tomorrow’s acclimatization day.

After breakfast, you will start walking uphill through the quiet trails above Namche. The climb is steady, so you can walk slowly and take plenty of breaks. As you gain height, the views become wider, and on a clear day you can see Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and other Himalayan peaks.
After spending some time at Hotel Everest View, you will return to Namche Bazaar. The afternoon is free to rest, explore the town, visit local shops, or enjoy the mountain surroundings.
This active rest day is important because it allows your body to adjust to the higher elevation before you continue toward Tengboche and Dingboche.
