Trip Overview

The Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a great choice if you want to experience the Himalayas without spending too many days on the trail. It gives you a complete trekking experience in a short time, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced trekkers. In just over a week, you go from green hills to high mountains, enjoying nature, local culture, and amazing views along the way.

This trek is really astounding because the landscape changes so quickly as you go. You first go through peaceful woodlands, terraced fields, and villages. The surroundings progressively change as you ascend, becoming rougher and more open. The trip proceeds at a pleasant, organic pace that lets you enjoy each day without ever feeling rushed.

The first stop on your journey is Pokhara, a serene lakeside city and the main entry point to the Himalayas. From there, you begin the trip, which gradually leads you to Chhomrong via small settlements and forest roads. The Annapurna Sanctuary’s entry is this town, which is perched on a mountainside.

After Chhomrong, the route gets more serene and scenic. You cross suspension bridges, go through thick woods of rhododendron and bamboo, and follow rivers that meander around the valley. The scenery opens out, and the temperature drops as you climb, offering wider vistas of the mountains.

Near Machapuchare Base Camp, the trees begin to disappear, and the mountains feel much closer. From here, it’s a short walk to Annapurna Base Camp, the main highlight of the trek. Massive mountains, including Annapurna I, Machapuchare, and Hiunchuli, surround you. The sunrise here is one of the best moments—quiet, peaceful, and very beautiful.

Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek Brief

There is more to the trek than just getting to base camp. Walking at your own speed, pausing for tea, eating warm meals, and interacting with other trekkers are all part of the basic everyday experience. After days of walking, you may unwind in the natural hot springs of Jhinu Danda on the way back.

This trek is moderate in difficulty. There are uphill climbs and stone steps, but no technical skills are needed. With basic fitness and a steady pace, most people can complete it comfortably.

If you are looking for a short Annapurna Base Camp trek, a 9-day ABC itinerary, or an easy Himalayan trek in Nepal, this is a great option. It offers beautiful landscapes, local culture, and close-up mountain views—all in a short and manageable time.

The valley becomes narrower as you get closer to a higher altitude, and the landscape gradually changes as you ascend. Trip notes

The ABC trek involves daily walking on stone steps and uphill trails, so a steady pace is important. Weather can change quickly at higher elevations, so carry warm layers and a rain jacket at all times.

Wi-Fi and charging are available in many teahouses, but may be slow or cost extra. Carry enough Nepali cash, as there are no ATMs on the route. Starting early each day helps avoid bad weather and gives clearer mountain views.

Unforgettable Trekking Experience & Warmest Hospitality with Silvermoon Adventure Silvermoon Adventure and Tours provides comprehensive, reliable, and top-tier service, treating every guest with genuine warmth and care. They truly make Nepal feel like a second home, and trekking with them means you won't need to worry about a single detail from start to finish. Why I Chose Silvermoon Adventure and Tours I learned about the team through Deepak. Once he knew my flight details and preferred trek, he immediately customized a detailed itinerary for me. While I consulted other travel agencies in Nepal, Deepak and the Silvermoon team provided the most thorough plan and transparent information, giving me complete confidence to book with them. The Trekking Experience My guide, Basanta, took exceptional care of me throughout the entire journey. Along the trail, he constantly checked in on how I was feeling, offered breaks, and even offered to carry my backpack to ensure I was comfortable. Every time we arrived at a tea house, he made sure I had food and drinks ready—even reminding me to order meals when I was too exhausted to think about it. On the day we reached Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), I developed a mild headache. Basanta immediately arranged garlic soup to help relieve the altitude sickness and provided medicine to soothe the pain. His attentive care made all the difference in completing the trek safely. Beyond his attentiveness, Basanta is an expert guide who always navigated the easiest paths at trail junctions. Even after we returned to Pokhara for dinner, he ensured I got back to my hotel safely. Deepak also checked in via message every single day during the trek to ensure everything was running smoothly. After the Trek The team's hospitality didn't end on the trail. Back in Kathmandu, the founder, Bishal, gave me a warm welcome, helped me retrieve my luggage from the hotel, showed me around the city, and personally arranged my airport drop-off. Thank you to Basanta, Bishal, and Deepak for an unforgettable experience. I will definitely return to Nepal and trek with Silvermoon Adventure and Tours again. Highly recommended!

Excellent guide and wonderful experience My husband and I had the most amazing experience trekking in the Himalayas to Poonhill with Bishal. We were very well looked after and felt extremely safe with him at all times. He made us laugh when the hike got a little trickier and always made sure we had hot drinks and food as soon as we got to the huts. We would highly recommend him as a wonderful and trustworthy guide and will definitely contact him again when we have plans to come back!

The trek itself was stunning, with beautiful forests, peaceful trails, and breathtaking mountain views, especially from Mardi Himal View Point. Everything was well organized, including the accommodation, meals, and daily itinerary, allowing us to fully enjoy the adventure without any worries. I highly recommend Silver Moon Adventure to anyone planning the Mardi Himal Trek. A big thank you to Dipak for making our trip so enjoyable and unforgettable!

My Annapurna Base Camp trek with Silver Moon Adventure and Tours was an excellent experience from beginning to end. Since this was my second trekking trip in Nepal, I had high expectations, and the company truly delivered outstanding service. The team communicated very professionally and answered every question with patience and kindness. The hotels arranged during the trek were comfortable and well selected. Most importantly, the guide and porter were incredibly supportive, caring, and attentive throughout the journey. I felt safe, comfortable, and fully supported during the entire trek. I would definitely choose Silver Moon Adventure and Tours again for future adventures in Nepal.
