The Annapurna Circuit Trek via Tilicho Lake is one of the most rewarding trekking journeys in Nepal, combining the classic Annapurna Circuit route with a side trip to the stunning Tilicho Lake. This trek takes you through remote Himalayan villages, deep valleys, alpine forests, and high mountain deserts before crossing the famous Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters.
The journey starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani and continues along the traditional Annapurna Trail through Chame, Upper Pisang, Nawal, and Manang. As the landscape changes day by day, trekkers experience everything from green hills and pine forests to dramatic cliffs and snow-covered mountain scenery. Along the route, you’ll get incredible views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Chulu East, and several other Himalayan giants.
This trek is an amazing experience in and of itself, but there is one major highlight that you won’t want to miss: Tilicho Lake, which is located high in the mountains at 4,920 meters. The trail to this breathtaking lake is difficult, and you have to walk through the rocky paths, rugged terrain, and peaceful alpine surroundings.
